The first step to any model is to undercoat it. For this elf I just used standard citadel black spray paint.
This first colour i then applied to the model was Auric Armour Gold. This colour is applied to all the armour on the model. Including the shield which should be painted separately.
The Next stage requires a heavy dry brush of Golden Griffon.
A Generous amount of Biel-Tan Greenis then added to the armour. This gives the armour its green tinge that is seen in the movies.
A very light dry brush of Runefang Steel is applied to finish the amour.
The chainmail and belt require a heavy dry brush of Leadbelcher and then a light dry brush of Runefang Steel. If you feel you have over done it, you can go over it with a wash of Nuln Oil.
Now for the robes. The robes and cloak are painted with Kantor Blue.
The cloak and robes can now be coated with a generous wash of Drakenhof Nightshade.
The highlights to the cloak can be applied now. A heavy dry brush of Caledor Skyis first applied whish is then followed by a lighter dry brush with a mix of 2/3 Caledor Sky White Scarand 1/3.
Now for the remaining part of the shield, the spear, the shoes and the skin. First of all the colour of the shield should look something like the picture below.
The next stage includes painting the boots of the elf, the stick on the inside of the shield, and the spear Rhinox Hide. These parts should then be given highlights using Mournfang Brown. The skin of the elf is first painted with an undercoat of Mournfang Brown. The raised parts of the skin can then be coated with Kislev Flesh. A wash of Reikland Fleshshade is then applied to the skin and then Kislev Flesh is again applied to the more prominent raised parts of the skin, like the knuckles of the hand.
The grip on the shield is painted with Rakarth flesh. It is then given a wash of Agrax Earthshade. The raised parts are then given a highlight of karak stone and then and even sharper highlight of Ushabti Bone.
The final part of the model is the blade of the spear. This given a heavy dry brush of Leadbelcher followed by a lighter dry brush of Runefang Steel. The elvish detail at the base of the blade is painted using Auric Armour Gold.
Your painted High elf is finished. The basing can be done how ever you choose to do so for your preferred terrain.
Happy Painting.
The Wizard
